Vision Quest - A Week of Hiking and Fasting - From April 19 to 26, 2026

Vision Quest 2026: A Week of Hiking and Fasting in the Meygal Mountains (Haute-Loire)
From April 19 to 26, 2026
We will travel on foot through forests and fields, following streams and rivers, and crossing the Meygal Mountains (Haute-Loire). On our backs, we will carry only the essentials and the bare minimum needed for sleeping, clothing, and drinking, keeping our load as light as possible. It is while walking, at the pace of trekking poles for those who wish to use them, that we will seek the nourishment of the soul, admire the beauty of the landscapes, savor the calm and silence, and feel the energy of the earth warming and coming back to life in spring.
A Week of Fasting and Hiking
During this week, we will undertake a voluntary fast to deeply cleanse the body. This will be combined with the intense physical effort of mountain hiking (15 to 30 kilometers per day, less if needed) and life in nature (bivouac under a large tarp), as close to the earth as possible.
This bodily cleansing can also provide an opportunity for each participant to become more receptive to the other part of themselves, the part that is not filled with material things, but with energies, emotions, pains, thoughts, and fears.
⚠️ This immersion can be very intense and challenging, especially during the first few days. The deep physical cleansing induced by fasting and strenuous activity may cause headaches, dizziness, or fatigue. Experiences will vary from person to person. We will need to support each other in this collective adventure.
In the evenings, we will share long moments around the fire, talk, and exchange experiences. We will prepare hot herbal teas from plants freshly gathered in the morning and evening. Along the way, we will encounter numerous water sources to drink from and refill our bottles.
Sleep and Recovery
Sleep will be our best ally. We will sleep deeply, often, and even take naps. Many people with sleep difficulties find that they sleep like babies during a week of fasting combined with hiking. For this reason, our campsite will be carefully prepared to ensure comfort and rest.
After the first challenging days, an intense sense of well-being may emerge. Hunger fades, energy returns. It is in this deeply pure inner and outer space that we may gain access to an "other clarity," a chance to see our life and the world with fresh eyes.
Guides and Facilitators
Emilien lives on a farm with Emma, where they cultivate ancient wheat, bake bread, and raise animals (www.fermedesabadel.fr). He has participated in numerous immersions and expeditions in the far North alongside me. We have been friends for over 10 years. His subtle, daily work with energies, his humility, and deep respect will be important qualities for the group.
Tashunka, I am a man of the wild open spaces, passionate about the arctic and sub-arctic regions of Siberia and Lapland. I am an adventurer and “wilderness experimenter,” undertaking long, self-sufficient immersions that sometimes last several months. Fasting is inseparable from my experiences in the Taiga and Tundra and is an integral part of the abundance–abstinence rhythm of the wild.
Safety and Refeeding
Descending from the fast and reintroducing food will be your responsibility. These steps are extremely important for your well-being during the week and afterward. We will provide guidance beforehand.
Maximum 10 participants Participation: 350 euros per person
