SIBERIA IN THE SOUL
Сибирь в душе
Summer 2017. Four men venture into one of the last great solitudes on earth: the Polar Ural.
From the Komi Republic, they cross the mountains on foot until they reach the Khanty-Mansiysk region in Siberia. From the indigenous village of Saranpaul, they navigate by the force of the current and their own arms, all the way to the gates of the Arctic. Two months on foot and on water, covering more than a thousand kilometres, living essentially off what nature provides: fishing, foraging, fire.
At the heart of this adventure is Baptiste Dulaar, long driven by a passion for the wild lands of Siberia and the indigenous peoples who keep them alive. Siberia in the Soul is not a film about feats of endurance. No performance, no stopwatch. Only the slowness of rivers, the silence of a birch forest at dawn, men learning to be quiet in order to hear more clearly.
A contemplative and deeply human documentary, for those who still believe nature has something to say.

LIVING THE FOREST
directed by Alexis and Jérémie Lopez
Between philosophical quest and a vital need for isolation, Baptiste Dulaar decides to cross the sub-polar Ural on foot once again, accompanied by a close friend, Joffrey. In complete autonomy — no map, no GPS, no satellite phone, and only two kilos of rice — this journey reimagines our relationship to the land and to living things. An intense and powerful immersion in the Siberian taiga, one that will transform both friends.
