Gear List for the Igloo Adventure – March 2026
In March 2026 I will live in an igloo in complete autonomy for one month in Swedish Lapland. Here is the full list of equipment I will bring: clothing, camp gear, tools, travel gear and creative equipment.

Clothing
- Wool Malitsa (traditional garment of Siberian nomadic reindeer herders)
- Cotton Malitsa worn over the wool one to protect from wind and retain warmth
- Long wool scarf used as a warm belt for the Malitsa, a pillow at night, and a scarf
- Traditional winter boots from northern Sweden
- Inner boot liners x3
- Thick and durable wool socks x6
- Loose and comfortable cotton trousers (tight weave)
- 3 merino wool T-shirts
- 2 thin wool sweaters
- 1 long wool sweater with hood that can be worn over other wool layers
- 2 merino wool leggings
- 1 thick Mongolian wool legging
- 1 pair Swedish army over-mittens
- 2 pairs wool mittens that can be layered
- 2 pairs thin merino wool gloves
- 3 merino wool boxers

Camp
- Hilleberg UL10 lightweight tarp (bivouac before the igloo is built and during travel)
- 12 titanium UL stakes
- Reindeer hide with short autumn fur
- Piece of Tyvek (groundsheet, gear protection in the pulka, emergency shelter)
- Down sleeping bag, comfort -10°C
- Wool blanket, 220 x 240 cm
- Silk sleeping liner
Tools (fishing, camp, survival, cooking)
- Axe
- Ice pick (custom-made by my sponsor Delfi)
- Snow shovel (offered by my sponsor Delfi)
- Three knives: one Opinel and two fixed-blade knives (in case one is lost)
- Water bottle + wool sock for insulation
- Simple Petzl headlamp + 12 AAA batteries adapted to cold
- Drying and cleaning rope for clothes, about finger-thick and 10 meters long (can serve many other uses)
- Snow brush to remove snow from clothing
- Fire steel
- Three lighters
- Mineral and diamond sharpening stones
- Well-stocked sewing kit
- Trap wires for ptarmigans and rabbits
- Ice fishing gear

Travel
- 50 liter backpack
- Leki Sherpa Pro trekking poles
- Pulka sled
- Skis adaptable to my boots
- Maps at 1:50,000 and 1:100,000 scale
Creative and sharing equipment
- Three analog cameras loaded with Ilford HP5 black and white film
- Tascam DR-L10 Pro audio recorder + 6 AAA cold-resistant batteries
- Two notebooks with pencils and India ink pens
